Kevin Ashton

 

Kevin Ashton for the last 30 years has been cooking around the world in such places as The Grand Hotel Krasnapolsky, Amsterdam (5 Star) and was Executive Head Chef of The Armoury in Hamilton, Bermuda cooking for the rich and famous.

 

He also worked at The Hay Adams & Jefferson Hotels in Washington D.C which are the favourite places to stay if you’re a celebrity. Amongst the long list of VIP’s Kevin has cooked for is Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, President Bush, President Reagan, Vice-President Mondale, Senator Edward Kennedy, Ethel Kennedy, Alexander Haig, Admiral Crowe, Michelle Pfeiffer, Paul Newman, Linda Carter, Omar Sheriff, Larry King.

 

Kevin also enjoys performing cooking demonstrations on both sides of the Atlantic, sharing his passion for food with enthusiastic audiences including - BBC Good Food Show, N.E.C. the Home & Garden Show, the Royal Show, and the Total Sandwich Show at Olympia London.

 

Asda, Heinz, Somerfield, Pork Farm Bowyers, Knorr, Kerrygold are some of the well known companies Kevin has worked for on product launches and cooking demonstrations.

His writing career began with an invitation from the Birmingham Sunday Mercury to write a weekly recipe column, which he did for over 5 years.

 

Since then Kevin’s recipes and food articles have appeared in UK and US newspapers and magazines including Chicago Sun Times, Reuters, Yes Chef (UK), Chef Magazine (US) Hotline magazine and his own popular food blog.

 

Kevin also picked up some great new skills when he worked for Chef Jean-Christophe Novelli at the Novelli Academy in the summer of 2010.

 

As a food writer Kevin continues to learn, from his travels around the culinary world sharing his insights on The Pastry World Cup in Lyon, the food scene in Toronto or the up and coming food destinations of tomorrow.
