Peter Bayless
Independent Chef, food writer, teacher and demonstrator - Winner BBC MasterChef 2006
Peter discovered his love of food and a talent for cooking at his first Boy Scout camp back in the 1950’s. This initial excitement of being able to wow others with his cooking has stayed with him throughout his life, and is what eventually steered him away from a 40 year career in advertising.
Peter finally decided to pursue his passion in a professional capacity and entered MasterChef 2006 to kick-start his dream career. As a result of winning the show, Peter now works as an independent chef in both France and the UK.
He has published a book of his experiences and regularly teaches at a number of cookery schools throughout the Southeast. A regular contributor of articles and recipes to food magazines Peter’s infectious enthusiasm for fresh ingredients, prepared with care and cooked with love has made him a successful broadcaster on both radio and TV and a highly entertaining live demonstrator at food fairs around the country.
