Having grown up surrounded by rich farmland, the Great Lakes and the inspirational cooking of his Swedish Grandmothers, Tom spent much of his childhood in the kitchen or in his Grandfather’s workshop.
It wasn’t long however before his urge to construct and create took him out of the country and into the vibrant art scene of New York. By his early 20s he was studying at Parsons School of Design, before being offered a full scholarship at the French Culinary Institute.
After finishing top of the class, his professors sent him to apprentice at some of the finest hotels and restaurants in the world. He found himself at Raffles in Singapore, the Peninsula in Hong Kong and then in Tokyo, under the watchful eye of the dynamic Chilean Restaurateur, Veronica Segovia. From there he went to Paris to study under Christian Fouchet and attend the Ecole Ferrandi before setting up his Food, Fashion and Design company, Tom Wolfe Produktions in 2000.
With a star-studded client list the length of many a red carpet, Wolfe cooks for icons like Jennifer Lopez, Madonna and Stella McCartney, taking his unique culinary concepts all over the world. Merging food with performance art, he is often invited to art direct, exhibit, cook and style for luxury brands, such as Dom Perignon, Hennessy and Roberto Cavalli.
